The VAT amount, net price, and gross price are calculated instantly.

How do I calculate VAT from a price?

To add VAT, tax = net × rate ÷ 100 and gross = net + tax. To remove VAT, net = gross ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100), then tax = gross − net. At 10%, net 100000 gives tax 10000 and gross 110000. Reverse this with 110000 ÷ 1.1 = 100000, not by subtracting 10% from the gross.

What tax rates are available?

Country presets are standard or representative tax-rate references; some jurisdictions require manual entry. The applicable rate depends on the jurisdiction, goods or services, exemptions, reduced rates and transaction date. Selecting a country does not determine tax liability or guarantee that a reference rate is current; check the relevant tax authority.

How do I calculate a tip?

Enter the bill and choose a preset or custom tip percentage, not a fixed cash amount. A bill of 100 with a 20% tip totals 120, or 40 each for 3 people. Indivisible remainders are allocated in the currency’s smallest unit so shares add up. Where available, Round up total raises the grand total to a whole currency unit before splitting; the difference increases the tip.

Is my data private?

Calculations run in your browser. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity start in full analytics mode by default. In Analytics settings, you can explicitly choose cookieless mode; both providers continue usage measurement without analytics cookies.

What is the difference between margin and markup?

Profit = selling price − cost. Margin = profit ÷ selling price × 100; markup = profit ÷ cost × 100. With cost 80 and selling price 100, profit is 20, margin is 20% and markup is 25%.

How do stacked discounts and rounding work?

Each discount applies to the remaining price: 20% then 10% takes 100 to 80, then 72. The effective discount is 28%, not 30%. Each step rounds at the currency’s precision, such as 2 decimal places for USD and whole units for KRW or JPY, so small amounts can differ from an unrounded calculation.
